There is no one mold for a Baret Scholar. We are looking for
independent and dynamic students of the world seeking their best
year yet. All of our scholars demonstrate a deep sense of curiosity
and care — both for themselves and the people around them.
Whether you're applying to start Baret in January or September,
the admission process is the same.
This is a presentation of you.
Every student who applies to be a Baret Scholar is reviewed holistically: we conduct in-depth interviews, seeking to understand who you are, what drives you, and how you see this journey around the world amplifying the larger journey of your life.
Our applications are open
We are currently accepting applications for Baret's journeys beginning in 2026. Students who are considering a gap year between high school and university as well as those currently enrolled in university who are seeking a meaningful year away from campus are eligible for the Baret Scholars program.
Note: Students can still apply for our merit-based scholarships; however, we are not currently accepting need-based financial aid applications. We accepted need-based financial aid applicants in our early rounds of admission.
